MKII Pro - AC125 vs 0C81D

Post by zerorez »

Has anyone had a chance to compare the two side by side in the MKII.

The Captain indicated the 125's were supposed to be a close replacement to the 81's,

Curious if there is any note clean up when rolling back the guitar volume with the AC125's in the MKII, like you can do with the OC81's or OC75's in a MKII :headbanger:

Thanks
Joe

Interesting. I just bought a bunch of AC125s, but haven't tested any yet. Now I'm curious as to how these will sound in a MKII.

I don't know about OC81, so I can't say much... but

AC125 will clean up.
in compairson, OC75 will clean up better.

Mee likee Cleaning Girlee. :badlove:

AC125 will clean up, it's just not as good as OC75. more gain=less clean up...

but

AC125 has got a little more fuzzy cunt hair on it than 75.

and little more bottom end. very peachy bottom end. make me wanna slap it...

Thanks for the comaprisons, so far I have had a D*A*M OC75 MKII and acquired a D*A*M OC81D MKII with the glass mullards on a trade for the OC75 plus cash.

Well the OC75's and the OC81's both sound fantastic and it hard to say which is better.

The OC81D's have a warmer sound and slightly less of a high end then the OC75's.

The ultimate D*A*M MKII enlosure would be one of the Captains custom creations like Old School pedal to have a switch to go between the OC81's and OC75's or the Big Daddy with 3 selectable tone bender circuits.

:headbanger:

Just posted my MK II in the one-offs section. While technically not a "one-off" the transistors Dave used are very nice and he marked it a 1 of 2.
