Re: More Drag'n'Fly love!
I just acquired a 2011 DF. Quick question, when I rotate the pot on the Attack knob, I get a somewhat noisy static sound toward the end of the knob's rotation (5-6 o'clock). I can't figure out if it is a scratchy pot or just the nature of cranking the fuzz. Once I stop turning the knob, it is fine. It just produces a little bit of noise as I move toward the far end of the attack cycle.
Is this normal. Or a scratchy pot?
[update...spoke to the captain..it's normal. Just the pedal self-biasing...carry on.

Sounds like a scratchy pot to me. I would email dave if you're worried about it and see if he can fix it. He's pretty good at take care of his children whenever they start to malfunction.

Can I get away with running a buffered pedal before a drag' n'fly?

if it's too hot of a signal coming out it might make the fly sound like shit. but give it a shot. cant hurt it none.
wont know unless you try.
i run any/all boss pedals last in the chain which i've found suits me just fine.

i like pedals when you know they're on
When I saw you with that lost look on your face saying you had just saw ET, I thought "uh oh, game over" - innerflight

I am trying to figure out how far to the front of my chain I can bring a future buffer pedal in my chain (I haven't bought it yet). I have two fuzzes--a DAM and a Spaceman. I'll give it a try

The Dragnfly tends to sound weird with a buffered pedal before it. I always put mine first in the chain.

It is named Kuroi Kiri, for the monster called Black Mist.

Granny Smith Green Drag 'n' Fly Loaded with Ge OC140 & silicon BC337 transistors. It's my favourite elements of '68
silicon Fuzz Face and a '66 germanium Vox Tone Bender tweaked for more gain, greater headroom and more tonal scope.
