WTF happened to this guitar?

Post by Jim Goad »

How could a control and pickup cavity get so burnt? Looks like someone plugged straight into a mains socket! The bridge pickup seems ok, just the neck pup cavity is burned up. Could this happen if you plugged into your amp speaker output?

Whatever it was it looks like it would kill you. Looks like it has had mains power from the amp through it

Could be. Looks like it got very hot very quickly. No damage to the outside of the guitar so it wasn’t set on fire Hendrix style. Innards are toast though and lots of scorching around the input.

I once had a microphone returned to Macaris 'not working ' ' no sound '

When they showed me the lead i saw they had taken the jack plug off and wired a mains plug on the end then plugged it into the wall !

Lucky to be alive

still not sure where they thought the sound was going to come from !

Maybe same customer had a guitar ????
