I saw recently where someone claimed a kid had ripped out a tranny on a pedal :paranoid:

Hopefully it will sell quickly for you :tu:
Yeah I think the same man.
Again yeah I also don’t like to think the worst but he apologised over and over for how it sucked for me and how he felt bad.
Either the guy was a saint or he got caught up in a bidding war and regretted spending money maybe he didn’t have hence asking for the insurance money to help him out.

Yes Jim I agree. I think it just sat in the case not looked at by anyone.

He said about sending it to a “Gibson specialist” :banger:

I laughed it off and said mate that guitars been upgraded with after market goods.
Gibson won’t touch it.
Plus you’ve got a switch, jack, 4 pots, 2x PIO caps, and some 18AWG wire to ground the pots.
It’s not rocket science.

I think he was hoping for me to send him cash either way. Luckily I knew my stuff and said naa I’ll have it back.
Didn’t really want anybody tampering with it especially if I was going to get a invoice from a “specialist” at the end.

Just another fucker looking for a cheap deal.
Ebays full of them these days. I’m coming to the end of buying and selling on there tbh as there is too many untrustworthy people on there looking to make a quick buck at our expense.

When I bought my SonicVI MkII of Reverb, it arrived DOA.

After about 10 minutes of troubleshooting I found that one of the legs on Q1 had come adrift from the veroboard.

It took longer to get the circuit, pots, switch and jack out of the enclosure than to diagnose and repair the fault!

How much hassle could I have caused between the seller, reverb, paypal, a tech, etc etc had I not taught myself the most basic of soldering skills?? I have no idea why many guitarists are so fucking afraid of tinkering with their gear.

I just feel back in the day it was musicians and the like on eBay. People would turn up on my door step after a sale and we would chat guitars, music for 10-15mins before they went on their way.

This morning I’ve had a guy try to low ball me and also falsely try to educate me on the guitar I’m selling.
The “ hi I’m interested, saw this type of guitar 4 years ago at guitar shop for £700 so I’ll give you £450 and pick it up tomorrow”.

They did a run in 2012 in a gold top and again mine was a ltd run for Japan in 2017.
I’ve took out the circuit board and put TVT pots and the like , 50s wired with NOS PIO caps with switchcraft switch and jack.

This guy wants an Epiphone I think. That’s what hex can afford.
Probably a shop.

I’m just too polite to say “tell ya what... go f@@k yourself

But the answer was no

Yep Ben basic Skills go a long way.... still, if it was DOA I get it but I would have sent him £50 If he’d of just sent me pics I could’ve told him straight away.
It took 2 mins to heat the iron and 10 secs to re-attatch no disassemble required

Could be a shop. I sold a Teisco not long ago and the buyer sent me pics of broken bridge posts and kicked up a fuss. Guitar wasn’t like that when I sent it to him and it turned out to be the personal eBay account of a shop owner. He made out like it wasn’t going to be an easy repair when it was actually £5 of parts and a 10 minute fix.

Yeah it’s tough isn’t it.
I’m always grateful of this place and the trust we’ve all built up with each other.
I feel eBay now has to many fuckers looking to make a quick buck.
It’s sad really. I’ve had great deals on there but I’m always weary these days.
