More pics. Amazing how it shows up more blue in this light.
I’m going to change the nut next week as it’s the only bit I’m not 100% happy with. I’ll check the colour of the pickup coil wires While the strings are off too.

Black wires, black bobbin, black grommet and the coil wire appears to be dark maroon where I can see it through the broken bobbin. Looks like it is a 50s pickup after all.

Thanks all. I can’t put this thing down! My music room has been out of action for a month due to having our bathroom refurbished and it was full of tiles, tools and dust. Really looking forward to cranking the SG through my OR120 for a proper test.
