I don’t know why they did it, it’s just a regular LM308 in a 14 pin package, with lots of unconnected pins, and two that are labelled “Guard”. I think they’re “rare” as they were only made for a short time, and the pins are gold plated also.

Still messing around with it this week - there are two points that look like they should be were the distortion pot on a Rat would be, but I tried that and it weakened the distorted signal to almost nothing. Yesterday I tried a 2M2 pot there and it works! the value on the Rat is only 100K :hmm:
