Hi,

Yet another clip showing the cleans you can get with the Epiphone Elitist 1965' Casino going straight into the Fender Deluxe Reverb (w/Cannabis Rex speaker). This time I'm using the "vibrato" channel with the volume set to 2, treble on 5, bass on 1 and reverb on 2.5.
Was recorded with an SM57, straight into logic where nothing but a tiny amount of limiting was done.
Oh and I should also mention that this is all the neck pickup (P90)
Anyway, here it is...

I'll do some dirty tones with the Casino tomorrow.
Cheers,
Xan :)

Love it, I have the Casino's (more attractive, IMHO) sister, the Sorento. It loves to be tight as a piano, so I keep 'er in Open A most of the time and play slide. I rarely have to tune it.

Nice playing, as usual. :chillin:

Cheers mate. Yeah those Sorentos look real nice. I do love the looks of mi' Casino though. Especially the wood on the back, so beautiful and deep, these pictures really don't do it justice!...

Can you shoot a side profile of the pups in relation to the strings? I want to see how it compares to my Sorrento, my neck pup sits awfully far compared to the bridge, more so than what I would think would be normal. I don't notice any loss of volume or response, but still, it's always been on the back of my mind.

Yeah sure. Mine is the other way around, the bridge pickup is quite far from the strings. This does create a noticebale volume jump when changing to the neck. It's become pretty much standard procedure for Casino owners to make/buy a shim to raise the bridge pickup by around 3/16". Infact, I'm planning on making a shim for mine tomorrow.
Does your Sorrento have the mini buckers or the dog ear P90's? I've seen them with both. If you have the P90's you could always adjust the polepieces for extra height.

Anyway, here's the picture...

Hope that helps,

Sweet sounds and looks Xan!

I know it in the std. tuning only,
which doesn't even touch the proper open tuning you use.
Keep up the great clips brutha'.

Cheers for the kind words. The tuning I use is D G C G C D low to high.
Just did a demo of it with the D*A*M 1966, here it is...
