Hi,

Here's a slightly more thourough demo showing how thick and downright gnarly the 1966 sounds with my Epiphone Elitist Casino.
It's going into the Fender Deluxe Reverb (w/Cannabis Rex speaker), "Normal" Channel, Volume on 3, Treble and Bass both on 5.
The 1966 is set to Superbee mode thoughout and the level is at noon. with the attack backed off to around 4 o'clock.

* Forgot to mention that the 2nd Harmony guitar part in Aqualung was all the same settings but with the 1966 switched to the "66" setting.

So, here it is, Aqualung, Dig a Pony & Revolution. Please excuse the sloppy playing, I'm off work ill at the moment and my head is pounding!!

Let me know what you think,
Cheers,
Xan :)

Hey nice one Xan!! :badteeth: Very chewy indeed. Cool little demo. You got that thing sounding nicely controllable whilst letting its buzziness shine through. Top self all the way. :tu:

NIce one Xan -that sounded great - I listened to it earlier on and again just now great tone despite the modeller - and particlarly fruity fuzzing on the Tull (I have a Vox Tonebender that used to belong and go on the road with J.T. so who knows it might have been used on that tune more than once!!) I have been a big fan of these lower budget hollowbodies for pushing twenty years now - never got into the Epis but have had several nice early 330's - still have 2 blondes - great guitars - a little twitch with feeding back if over amped but none the less, particularly versataile instruments. A bit like the small "student" Fenders I was just praising elsewhere - these well the 330's anyway) were sold at a budget price with many players preferring the tone and lack of feedback of the solid cored 335 & 345's (much dearer and by the time you got a bigsby - backbreakers - heavier than a Paul!!) I have a wrecked neck and really couldnt take the weight of a LP or 335 for a whole night but these models are ideal for me - even do a decent job acoustically when the wife and kids are sleeping! :marx: Graham

cheers dude. Yeah I love the light wieght of the Casino. I was always wanting one but I thought I'd have to go vintage to get a good one, which would have been pricey. But then I was told about the "elitist" line, so I thought I'd go for it and I'm so glad I did!
I bought it from the U.S.A on Ebay last year, got it for a great price. Around £700 including postage and customs fees! Whereas to buy one over here it cost around £1,800!! I'm glad I paid the extra and went with the Elitist over the standard Epiphone model though. A friend of mine has the standard £300 Epiphone Casino and while it's still a great guitar, it definately lacks something. I'm sure you already know this, but the Elitist line are all made in the Terada factory (the legendary place that was re-tooled to 60's technology), and these guitars are all hand made and individually setup to Gibson Custom shop specs. So this guitar is an exact replica of the 1965 model.
Basically this has been my dream guitar for over 10 years and I couldn't be happier with it. I use it way more than I use my Gibson Lester Paul now (which used to be my #1). It's just such a comfy and easy guitar to play.
I need to shim the bridge p90 though to bring it a little closer to the strings.
