D*A*M Red Rooster into London Fuzz w/Strat...

Post by smogfalls »

Yo!

Well, I'm already having so much fun with this sparkley little beauty. It arrived on my doorstep this morning and I've been playing with it all day.
I noticed that there are barely any demo's of this pedal online so I thought I'd better put one up!

This demo shows how well it pairs up with a germanium fuzz face, (the MJM London Fuzz in this case).
All the way through the demo, the Strats' volume is backed off a bit to clean things up a tad. I didn't record anything with the volume up full, but I will do. And trust me when I say that things get soooo thick and juicy when you do let it rip with this combination!
Anyhow, I'm using my Strat this time with Bare Knuckle Mother's Milk pickups in. This is going into the London Fuzz first with the level at noon and the fuzz backed off to 4 o'clock. Then it hits the Red Rooster with the Range at 3 o'clock and Boost at 2 o'clock.
This then goes into the Normal channel of my Deluxe Reverb w/Cannabis Rex speaker. Amp settings are; Vol: 3, Treble & Bass on 5.
Rhythm Guitar (panned right), is on the Bridge pickup and the Lead Guitar (panned left) is on the Neck.
Recorded with an SM57, through Presonus Pre's and into Logic where I added a small amount of compression and reverb.

* For the "Red House" section I added some slap back Tape Delay in Logic.

Anyway, here is the clip...

Let me know what you think,
Xan :)

Amazing as usual. We have similar rigs and taste...but I sound nothing like you, damn it.

That's a great Red House - I have one of those sparkly red roosters but mine doesn't want to sound quite as nice on RH as yours Xan!!

The red rooster is in no way detrimental to your great playing skills, thus this is testament to 1, your playing and 2, the gear you used!

Thanks so much for the kind words, I really appreciate it  Man, I seriously love the things this pedal does to my tone. It just seems to work amazingly well with anything I throw at it!

Dig the clips and it is always nice to hear a Hendrix song to boot. Great playing!
