Gagan Faux Boomer wah demo

Couple of quick clips to show off Joe's Faux Boomer circuit, installed in an old CryBaby enclosure.
Board looks like this:

Both clips are just guitar (my trusty Harvester #042) into the wah into a silverface VibroChamp. It's a really nicely-voiced wah, I think. Recorded straight into an iPad on the floor.

^ Thanks, fellas! It's a really good wah. The improvement over the stock CryBaby circuit is more than a little noticeable. Haven't touched the trim pots either - all "factory" set by Joe.

NICE!

sounds really cool, thank you for doing those clips. your recordings are really good on getting the noise floor low and a very different approach than my thrash-bluesrock vids.

much gratitude.

nice install too!

ps -- is your pot set to full treble? it seems like yours is a wee less boomer-y on top end than i am used to.

^ Hey Joe. Yeah, the idea was to keep it clean, although I should point out it sounds great with dirt and fuzz, too. Little amp, not much gain, volume on 4 or so.
Pot is set a notch or so back from full treble. Could be the lack of drive?

no, the lack of drive isn't it. those pots have the last bit of top quite near the end of rotation.

it might be that you like it this way, too, just wanted to make sure you get the full experience.

for my 'smooth pots', i use the fulltone method, crank the pot to full treble while switch is pressed, then back off one tooth.
