I love this one for a treble-boosted chimey thang:

Otherwise, I don't use compressors at all.
Vox amps have enuff compression for me already.

I use two compressors when I use any at all. For the jangly Byrds/Beatles sound on Rics.. It's the Jangle Box.. Actually it will put any guitar in the jangly ballpark.
For anything else, it's the Demeter Compulator. Smooth, subtle, adds a bit of sheen. I always liked the Dyna Comp but man it is noisy.. Sold my old one years ago..

Jazzmaster in the middle p/u position + Janglebox = chime heaven.

i just might have to give that a try! i've got the Lollar JM PUPs in it and they make that middle position something truly special... :badlove:

For new stuff, try out the AC15 Heritage
or the AC30 Heritage if you can deal with some more volume.
I love these amps.

There's a nice looking vintage script Dynacomp over on TGP I've been eyeing, but the coffers are empty, so go to it...

Cubba,
Are there any of the new AC30 reissues where you can actually jump the channels like on the original? The one I played at GC sounded good, but you couldn't blend the channels... What maroon thought of that "feature"?

yeah ive almost pulled the trigger on a vox so many times

i was thinking about getting a night train and a cheap cab just to have it a couple weeks back but lol i guess if i'm gonna buy a new amp i shouldn't do it half-assed right? :freak:

I do love the Vox sound... and I do love my Jazzmaster... but truth be told i think my next amp will be something with EL34s... I need a serious pummel-you-in-the-face dirty channel to be the bad cop to my fender's good cop :hihi:

one day i'm sure i'll have like 4 amps and a good handwired Vox will be among them though :tu:

keeley 4-knobs... fantastic compressor. with the input clipping knob you can really avoid chopping off the highend tones and still keep a real clear sound with fair amounts of compression. Damn silent as well!
