Dragonfly / Drag'n'fly was Monster Fuzz/Filth? before it took up the name "Hybrid fuzz"?
8-) looking at the #9 - 12 they were titled "Hybrid Monstrous Fuzz" :hihi:

I love my Drag'nfly. it's the biggest, filthy-est Fuzz that I got. "MONSTER FUZZ" :freakout:
kick all the rest of Fuzzface type pedals Aaawaay :fu:

I've loving all the history and photos that the Captain is posting. With frugal times ahead I'll be the voyeur and not the buyer for a while so these listings are a welcome port of call in the stormy weather.....

Is MINE!

I ordered this pedal from David in 2003 - and is the first 'small box' Drag'n'Fly - it says so in David's own fair hand! Its been gigged, recorded with and enjoyed for the last 5 years so has picked up a couple of paint chips along the way. The super-bright blue LED (David's suggestion for dark stages) is very useful for guiding passing aircraft into land and for lighting up the rest of the pedal board - don't look directly at it or you can actually hear your retinas burn.

Quite simply - as I said back in 2003 - this is the best Fuzz box ever made. It never ceases to amaze me and its one of my fave things in the world. I wouldn't part with it for anything.

Keep up the great work, David (and one day, I'll get that Arbiter PowerBooster pedal over to you to analyze!!!).

Hi Dave, I have a few questions just to clarify some of the details:

1. You have the "first" Drag'n'Flys, number 6-8, as being made in October 2003. However, I have the green one as being made in September 2003. Which is the correct date?
2. You have the green Darg'n'Fly, numbers 19-20 as being made in August 2004. However, I have that green one as being made in August 2005. Which is the correct date and does the photograph match the pedal you are referring to?
3. With regards to the pedals in the 21-27 number range, I have that first one as being made in January 2005, the second one was made in August 2005. Therefore, you may want to check your date range.
4. The photograph you have of the circuit board for numbers 29-30 was actually taken some time at the end of May 2005. Maybe you were working on them past April 2005?
5. With regards to your numbers 26-48 that second photo I have as being made maybe in April 2006. The blue one I have as being February 2006 (but I am not 100% sure).
6. The first photograph you have in the number 94-131 seems to be of a pedal built in August 2006. Therefore, do you have the right pedal photo for this date range?
7. With regards to number 132, I actually have that pedal in the photo as being made in October 2005. Which is the correct date and does the photograph match the pedal number?
8. With regards to number 141, I have the pedal in the photo as being made around February 2008. Therefore, does the photo match the pedal number you are referring to?
9. With regards to numbers 144-161, I have that pedal in the photograph as being made in August 2006.

What I am not too sure is if all the pedals in the photos exactly match the numbers you are referring to or have you used some photos to give an example of the pedal you would have made. Anyway, just checking the exact details :-)

Thanks :-)

Hey Cap'n, just caught this thread today.
Yes, I do have #31, which is the std. grey hammerite finish and decal,
identical to #21.
The board looks just like #19,
with the tranny set (AC128/BC108) that #21-27 has.

This pedal has been the sole fuzz on my board for over 2 yrs. now,
sitting in pole-position where it likes it best (just like that other roadhog, Speed Racer).
It's OK, that makes it easy for me to unplug after the gig
and I never forget to unplug it (I only use it with a carbon battery)
since it's in that position.

I have other D*A*M pedals but this is the one that gets the call on a regular basis.
It's just a perfect live fuzz tone for what I do.

:crackjam:
What gets me is all the tweaking,
just crank that bitch and be done with it! -- duende
