A Luther Allison bootleg video. Fantastic concert footage from Canada.

Back to being addicted to Boris - Smile once again (especially the track Ka Re Ha Te Ta Sa Ki - walls and walls and walls of fuzz in that tune)

Also strangely been listening to a bit of UFO at the moment...

Comets On Fire: Avatar.

Awesome album. Lots of crazy fuzzy solos all over the place plus massive amounts of echoplex thrown in for good measure. Highly recommended for those into the late-60s Californian psych sound!

psycho*daisies wrote:i just found a print-out from the 2003 auction i won my Vox Tone Bender MKII Professional...

It came from a 'car boot' in Portsmouth...:geek:

so i just tried looking up groups from that area c.1966...

i'm sure there were more, but the only one that i could find was Simon Dupree and the Big Sound. (Portsmouth/Gosport)

(Anybody know of any other groups from the Portsmouth area, c.64-68?)

Kind of a Psychedelic Pop group...check out We Are The Moles (parts 1 & 2), 1968... by their alter-ego name, The Moles! ...ha! (could it be a Tone Bender on there? sounds like it to me...lots of fuzz on that one....apparently Syd Barrett was a friend of theirs and came to rehearsals & Top Of The Pops around that time :freakout: Ray Shulman would've been the guitarist on there, i believe...

I think there is some relation to Gentle Giant who were active from about 1970-80...
Paul Jones of Manfred Mann came from Portsmouth, my Dad often tells me how he sat next to him at school, :hmm: he was called Paul Pond back then. I think he went solo in about 1966.
Play up Pompey!
