After listening to all these great clips, I got out my Ghost Effects Fuzz Tone(FZ1)
and my Creepy Fingers Fuzz Nugget(1a) -Both phenomenal builds, and jammed.
It is a very fun and nasty circuit!

here's a goofy TV sit-com appearance ("The Mothers-In-Law") but the fuzz solo has been excised! wtf!

psycho*daisies wrote:Psounds like a Maestro Fuzz to me...(1964 session, so it probably is an FZ-1 (or an über early Mk1)
I have an officially released "sessions" disc for Jeff Beck with this track included,
so it looks like he played this session (produced by Joe Meek, great sound effects!!)

:badsonar:
I believe Jimmy Page is taking credit for this one as well, flip side is 'come back baby' - 23/10/64. Is it an FZ-1 or allegedly a modded maestro by Roger Mayer? Also read somewhere that when Page was drafted in by Shel Talmy to play on an early Who record that Townshend asked Page to let him try his fuzzbox but was refused! Have literally thousands of recordings by no hit wonders using maestros - without a doubt the grandaddy (and definately my favourite) of all fartboxes and simply incredible how much them kids could do with them in those days - love the thread!

Looks like Dracula's Daughter features Sutch's regular guitarist, Geoff Mew.
(there's Meek documentary footage of them working on this tune and it's definitely not JB or JP on the session)...

"Jeff is often credited playing lead guitar on "Dracula's Daughter", although Geoff Mew, the then-current Savages guitarist, did play lead on this number. Beck only played on the B-side."
