I got this email from Justin @ MG

Damon
Hope all is well and apologies re the delayed mail (have just retuned back from the Namm show) and in regards to the Gary Hurst Mark 1 tonebender can advise full specification /details as follows (just spoken to Gary H )

1.Tonebender Mark 1 /Ebay Listing , Have personally checked the unit + spoken to Gary H and can comfirm as follows

Circuit , The unit has a transition Mark 1 circuit. This uses 3 transistors of the same value. Early Mark Is still have 3 transistor desighn, but of varied value. Because of instability of tone + sound, it was decided that the later /Transition Mark I circuit was produced.

2.New /Future Offers ,Based on demand + interest from many players + collectors can comfirm production of a limited run (100 units) of the original first series Mark I that will feature the correct circuit/transistors + early preproduction wooden cased housing , pricing based on component cost + labour will be circa £300

Hope the above information is of assistance and ill look forward to your feedback /response re above , keep well and have a great day

Best Regards
JUSTIN

MG sux ! I should have known better with them. I was not able to get my fuzzbox. Two weeks after the auction I asked if they had a tracking number for me and they said it was sent out the day before, two weeks later I emailed them and they said they thought I changed my mind about that fuzzbox and wanted the wooden LTD model plus I would have to pay more cash. I asked for a refund and got it.

15 years ago they pulled the same shite with me on a Vox amp.

That is pathetic. Sorry, man. I'm staying far, far away from Music Ground.

I know that Graham and Dennis have good experience from MG (maybe because they have so much knowledge and would be considered premium clients for the money they have invested in music gear over the years) but from my long experience if they think that they can get away with it they will. I've been frequenting central London music shops for a long time (longer than some on the forum have been alive !!) and I've found them the worst to deal with. If anything goes wrong there's generally a lame excuse or questioning that you don't know what you're talking about
