Oh, yeah. It's a ripper. :freakout:

I already made the mistake of selling some fuzzes that were hard to let go of to make one of the dumbest purchases I have ever made. I won't make that mistake again. So nobody else makes the same mistake I made, if you're considering a guitar from Echopark PM me first. To make a long story short, do not do it.

I have heard that dealing with the fella from Echopark is the stuff of nightmares. Like A Nightmare on Elm Street but 10x worse .

Yes, it is. When I placed my order and put down a deposit after hammering out the specs for a semi-hollow build I was promised an 18 month turnaround time. That deadline came and went and he ghosted me for a month. After I finally managed to reach him by email he sent me a profanity-laden message and said I would get it when I get it and he would no longer promise a delivery date.

The build ended up being delivered two years late and had numerous manufacturing flaws.

Here are some photos highlights of an 8k he sent after a 3.5-year wait: (This is not everything that was wrong either)

He finally agreed to take it back and build me a replacement guitar. The replacement guitar needed a complete rewiring of the pickups, the finish cracked and fell off after 3 weeks, and it would not intonate. I took it to a local luthier and had him make some repairs and promptly sold it for whatever I could get. It was the single worst dealing I have ever had and left me full of regret.

Fucking hell that is a disgrace. The workmanship, turnaround and the attitude combined with the price is utterly ridiculous. Do people still even buy his guitars anymore? How can someone run a business like that? I suppose if you’re Josh Homme you’ll get a nice guitar though and built quickly. What a fucking slapdash, rude, scumbag mutha fucka, basically stealing people’s money.

You hit the nail on the head. He doesn't build the guitars for his high-profile clientele, or has a lot of help with the building, though Joe Bonamassa made the mistake of purchasing a guitar and called him out. You can read about it here: https://www.gearnews.com/joe-bonamassa- ... lling-off/

Yes, he is still in business, but it is beginning to be a downward spiral. He was evicted from his shop space due to non-payment of rent and he is now sourcing most of his bodies from a Chinese manufacturer, Ginza. He took advantage of the eviction moratorium in the US and milked it for all he was able. Now he rents a shared woodworking shop for 150/month and is not able to manage those payments either.

I agree with you completely. I am not the only one that he screwed and the documented stories are horrifying. Hopefully, this all blows up and comes to an end. He is continuing to rip off unsuspecting customers and anyone who has not heard about his shenanigans. I am in contact with a guy right now that is in the process of getting bent over forwards. The wait for his guitar is now a year late and he is getting ghosted. The guy is a real huckster.

Thanks, man, I appreciate it.

It wasn't fun but I am going to take the opportunity to put the word out there any opportunity I get.
