Ha, they do sound different.

Is the buffer active when the pedal is off?

all i remember was hearing various snare drums around the room come alive & start barking when the Ezekiel's were battling it out, striking down upon thine ears with great vengeance and furious anger...
If you struggle baby,
It only tightens up...

The differences definately seemed more noticeable on bass than guitar. The old zeke I found to be grittier and have a lot more output volume on tap. New zeke is crisper, more hi-fi, and all around a bit fuzzier. Both great pedals...the two together on bass just brings the walls down. Like Davey said the room was just rattling!
