D*A*M 1965 & Jerms MKI comparison
Maybe this should be in the "Us & Them" forum
but I wanted to compare the D*A*M 1965 (MKI) to the Jerms MKI.
IMO, the 1965 has set the std. for how to build the very best MKI circuit in existence.
Well, I think Jerms has manged to reach that lofty height of bliss with his MKI.
They sound so alike.
Jim, you's screwed now buddy ... better get hunting for parts!

That's the point, I couldn't hear any difference at all.worldcatalyst wrote:They sound very close in the clip. I wish I was there in the room so I could really hear the differences.
So what are the major differences to your ears?
Granted, I didn't try the knobs at every setting.
But if I was blindfolded, I could not tell one from the other.
Dave's 1965 is so very good,
so Jerms really hit a home run with this thing!

That's about as good of an endorsement as I need.cubba wrote: That's the point, I couldn't hear any difference at all.

Here's to hoping those new transistors work out Jim.

I haven't tried a 65 (yet!), but Jim's MkI is absolutely without a doubt my favourite fuzz so far (and I didn't think that it was possible to have "a" favourite).
Dear Bongo, No.
Good deals with all these guys

MkI is one of the most awesome fuzz boxes ever. I always wanted to hear some comparison clips between MkIs from different builders, as I have a feeling that they sound very different.
Thanks for posting the clip!

Re:
Yessiree, they both have (2) TI's and (1) Mullard, same as the original MKI's did.tigerdriver wrote:I love the Jerms to death but never heard a MKI shootout, so that was definitely interesting.
Does the 1965 have the same transistors?
