Yes, I agree.
The new one is more bassy, but less bassy than the precedent "dark" version.
The new one has the volume pot so not usable (too high volume!).

The volume pots on the older ones seem to have a different taper, so there's a difference in gain at lower volumes. That's how it sounds with the ones I have anyway. Haven't tried this newest version though.

The ones that don't look like either of those, for starters.
As far as the earlier ones go, I think you have to go by date.
