D*A*M/Sola Sound Tone Bender MKIV part III

Post by The Captain »

Okay so, cool new project 5.2. Eye balls, check em. If you don't think that this is a sexy looking pedal you need to get your eyes replaced. Smokin' hot shit is hot.

Different spice under the hood this time. OC75's in place of the OC84N's. As with any transistor type the comparisons can be subtle, but to summarize, a hair more gain with a touch more sparkle in the highs. A little looser in general. As with the majority of fuzz circuits they claim as home the OC75's seem to give more rasp and crunch to the pound. Where as the '84 offers togetherness the '75 offers more outthereness. In a nutshell, it kinda sounds how it looks. Hot.

Same deal with manifestation process. I do the transistor set-up, Haynes does the assembly. Super special "where the fuck did I set this" custom knobs this time too. Ears, use them. If you need visuals, buy a Sharpie. You folk wanted authentic, you got it. Personally I think they look as cool as fuck. Kinda the cherry on top of the pudding of old school-ness.

Brass tacks be the same as always. Read more here

Credit where it's due: I only drew up the PCB and sent off the data to the board shop, Linzi built 'em.
