I bought a Skreddy Supa when they first came out and at the time did not like it very much. Seemed like a wooly Big Muff and have found that I’m not huge into the Big Muff sound. I do love the lead fuzz on Edwyn Collins track, but am concerned I’ll just neglect it if it does have Muff sound.

Well thats a difficult one . Obviously its a Jumbo circuit so will be muffy BUT - this is a DAM made Jumbo circuit that is certainly NOT a woolly muff sound - - with the tone rolled back your legs go weak and at full tilt your face peels off !

I'd be pretty F&*^%ing amazed if you could neglect this one :) - its pretty much uneglectable

Having said that - buy the black and gold one if you have the cash - that one rips your nuts off and leaves them in the next room

:)

in conclusion : I think it's quite good

Dig it. The last of the Bum's in this project. The white and beaver brown (yes, it's actually called beaver brown) being the very last unit. These all have Zetex ZTX107's over the ZTX109's that the bulk of the project units were fitted with, same tones, same biasing, same gargantuan low end response!

Well - what a ride that was !

It started many years ago with Sola Sound making 'the French case' and using it to house the 3 in a line Jumbo Tone Bender circuit .

They seemed to fly under the radar a bit really , maybe in the shadow of the Colorsound version.

Then Edwyn used his B&M fuzz unit on ' Girl Like You' and a few people got excited .

Years later we got together and decided to replicate that pedal that put fuzz tones back in the limelight when everyone was going digital .

Think that's when I heard the story and saw the remains of the 'U' sticker over the '&' of B&M and the Sola Sound BUM fuzz was born.

First the total historically correct Edwyn Collins version , then the incredible Blue Moon , maybe the best silicon fuzz pedal ever built with our name on it - maybe the best silicon fuzz ever - who knows .

Then the one-offs . We'd let the painters and printers run riot so there were a bunch of funky color combo one-offs.

Then of course the Cheap Ass - so proud of that one . Anyone who complained that we were starting to make pedals for Dentists - thank you - you brought this to life !

And here we are at the end of the run

there are about 20 Edwyns left

about 10 Cheap asses

and these freakin' incredible customs

The white one - a fitting end to project

Once they're gone . . it's over

Until we do it again . . . . . but it took 30 years last time .

Huge thanks to Dave for voicing these monstrous bangin' fuzz machines and to Danny who built most of them .

:)

btw - Merry Xmas - hope it rocks
