That is the sound of a borked transistor. Recently had a rangemaster from a dude on ebay that did the same thing!

Well the seller has responded that’s normal for high gain MkII and Stu hasn't responded yet, so not looking good.

I’m out of work and literally spent all my money on this so really bumming me out.

its cool Stu will respond, probably busy with life etc, its holiday time, schools are off etc

As for the seller you can tell him that's not normal and he should cover your costs for shipping etc. Do you mind me asking what you paid for it?

I understand about Stu. He’s been helpful in the past when I was trying to figure out a custom build.

I paid $265, which I know isn’t a lot of money, but I thought was fair for the uncommon transistors and knew it’d be money well spent since you all rave of Castledine builds.

It does sound really good as-is, but want the full experience with a solid pedal. I do gig and wanted this for my board.

Yeah, not trippin on Stu. Didn’t mean to come off like that.

Just have had a lot of bad luck lately and was really excited to get this.

That sounds just like my Hudson stroll on, when a transistor went bad :(
I hope its not that, if it was a rare combo.

Stu has responded, he said it definitely should not be doing this and that he doesn’t have anymore of these transistors.
