Re: Rendar Seahorse
My 8-66 black arbiter fuzz face has one PAF rendar, one patent number rendar. The PAF has a 5 in the upper right hand corner, like how the examples above have a 1 and a 2.

Cool, thanks man! According to your example, I wonder if 66 was the last year for using up the surplus pafs?
Great deals with: Stu, Graham, Sickle, Devnulljp, SteveG, peps1, paine, fuzzface6669, jetofuj, sciencefriction, jerms, rafmax, Bigfoot2000, whiskeyfuneral, monolithfuzz.

Re: Rendar Seahorse
It would be impossible to tell, as they apparently used ’66 pot codes until 1968. We don't know which Fuzz Faces actually date to 1966.
They would have the wide brow for sure, but the ones with the wide brow all have sideways and upside down mounted jacks, so there are very few pieces of data I can find. I have a pic of one with sideways mounted jacks that shows a patent number, but no other usable pictures so far... jreeves confirming a PAF rendar certainly is the best confirmation you can get. :)

That would probably the number of the mold cavity. If there are any problems during injection molded parts, a defect cavity can easily be identified by the number.
Everything is transitional.

My 8-66 arbiter has the first version wide spaced font, just to add detail

Here's another PAF rendar from a late 1966 Arbiter. This was the black one I had with a marcon cap
