Very cool! Not so much high gain. Full, fat and furry. Great

excellent! mine i had the fuzz and volume backed off a bit. it's warm here also so i'd say it was maybe 5% weaker than in colder months
thanks for watching!

Hello, sorry to BUMP this old thread but how well would you Fuzz Face perform in hot weathers? 28 celcius for example. Is there a threshhold where the Fuzz starts getting super sputtery and doesnt clean up well any more?

28 c is starting to get too warm for the old arbiter fuzz faces. anything above 24 c and I wouldn't trust it to sound its best

The threshold would be different for every pedal. The bias in these varies a lot.
Everything is transitional.

Well thats the thing. I have built a lot of Fuzzfaces but anytime i try to use the hfes and leakages acording to original NKT275 transistors i get a superb sounding FUZZFACE but useless above 26/ 28 celcius. I mean even at that temperature it gests super sputtery and Q2 would be above 8volts... So it keeps me thinking if the originals had that voltage swing over those temperatures + or less. I never had the oportunity to test original NKTs but any transistor that i use with similar specs (acording to data taken from this forum) the pedal is only usable half of the year. (im from Argentina). Anytime its over 24 and the pedal is useless.

Thank you very much for replying. I live in Argentina were its pretty typical to have over 28 celcius in summer. So efectively the original pedal is almost useless almost three months .. :(. I was not 100% sure about that.
