Imo, even the run-of-the-mill FF sound decent and they're relatively cheap. If you've never owned one, I'd give it a shot.

Wasn't the a Jerms Spam Can FF for sale recently?
Where?

The fuzz probe is also super fun! You can control the pitch of the oscillations with your foot. Sometimes they can be had for not too much used and I believe there is a vexter series one now.

Same here. I've tried it twice, and I think I only ever found one or two settings I was happy with, and everything else sounded fairly superfluous. But even then I never really got the 'Fuzz Face' comparison thing, or at least I'd prefer a dedicated FF pedal if that's what I was after, and generally found it a little uninspiring. I had a Mellowtone wolf computer years ago and preferred that. I think it has/had a similar circuit layout.

I have had a few Fuzz Factory builds and the jerms build trumped them all. I also found it took some getting used to but once I did it was pretty cool. Jim helped me out with the settings too, (like he posted here) and it is a hit. I ended up selling all my Zvex builds and kept the Jerms spammer. It really kills.

What type of capacitors were being used in the original Spam Cans? Tantalum or Polyester?
