The SMF was a pretty crazy amp. It would not even turn on unless you had two cabs hooked up to it.

I wonder if Marshall were using spares they had lying around to build pigs. The Park/CMI amp I have is sort of a hodge podge of parts that were assembled on turret board after they stopped hand wired production. The parts and construction do not it neatly into a Marshall timeline but they all date consistently.

i'll bet they made lead and bass and PA versions.... it does look like he totally rebuilt that newer pig he got... no red paint on any of the solder joints...

pretty sure they were all built in 67 the heyday of point to point plexi....

Yeah, it seems like that. Hmm, given that they were made in '67 I'm guess they would all be shared cathode most likely? So the one with more gain would make sense as a lead model.

I've always seen it associated with Mick Ronson. I don't know if it was stenciled on but I'm pretty sure that's what he called it.
