Your Favorite Bass Fuzz(es)

Post by jazznrick »

Hello fellow D*A*M disciples,
I would like to know your favorite stompboxes for use with bass guitar. I am looking for something new and it seems fitting to go to all of you for a little help. Right now I solely own the D*A*M/Colorsound Bass Fuzz. Thanks!!

Malekko B:Assmaster
D*A*M Ezekiel
Prescription Electronics Depth Charge
Katanasound Super Bass Fuzz
Black Cat Bass Octave Fuzz

That's my Top 5 bassfuzz right there.

Turbo Rat for a punchy tone with loads of attack.
Colorsound Supa wah fuzz swell (same as jumbo tone bender I think) for really fat, saturated, big bottom end fuzz.

Depends what tone you’re looking for.

No doubt the D*A*M Ezekiel
I've also had fun with the Ghost Warmjet for something unique

I love the BeeBaa on bass! Foxx Tone Machine also, both pretty aggressive choices I know, but both a lot of fun

I don't have a lot of experience playing bass but 2 pedals that I loved and were utterly useful were,

1. Creepy Fingers Harakiri bass fuzz. Brad added a blend knob that allowed you to raise and mix the level of the dry signal with the Superfuzzed signal.

2. Wren and Cuff Pickle Pie B. Also had a blend knob. Could back off the gain a lot and it was still great.

I've been using almost exclusively Halas (who knows he knows) germanium fuzz face with my 4003 for like 4 or 5 years now. Tried and built dozens of different, let's say more "bass-friendly" pedals, but this one keeps me satisfied.

Fuzz face circuit works really nicely on bass. Good midrange grit.
