Tbh I don’t think the shop owner was really impressed with it?!
Think he thought a lot of hype about nothing.
The great thing me and kris thought :freakout: with this one is that when the attack dial goes passed 3 o clock it oscillates like a fuzz factory does. You can play through it with the chaos going on in the background but probably quite unusable if you were looking for Zep tones :badteeth:
all the good hairy ones oscillate at full attack!! :freakout:

It's more of a problem with 25µF and low temperatures I think

Man, that Jim MKII is special. What a sound.

I hadn't heard those Impex theories, super interesting stuff!

Just speculating here, but it does fit in with the theory that the Impex company might have been relabeling rejects from the Mullard production line.

Image
Far out! One of the S3-1T's in Joe's MKI.5 has the 'Mullard' print vaguely visible.

I'd go along with the theory Andrew Wylie mentions for IMPEX here: http://wylie.org.uk/technology/semics/Impex/Impex.htm

That being, they were Philips/Mullard parts deemed for IMPort/EXort sales.
