All squared away. A couple dead signal caps around the clipping section, and some tone pot issues resolved.
Don't let the plastic (or The [fucking] Edge ) scare you off: the enclosures are precision engineered (every slot is cleverly placed) from a super durable plastic (sturdy, but just soft enough to mitigate shatter potential), and so friendly to repair (thanks to the easy slide PCB and generous schematic). Lots of distinct fuzz tones! The PCB is really high quality too: beefy traces.

Very cool!
Are there no controls? Just On and Off? EDIT: Oh, I see it has a pot for something, like a wah. Is that a tone control or fuzz?
Does it resemble any other company's circuit?

Yeah, it's a tone control! I'm not super familiar with the world of obscure Japanese fuzzes, so I can't speak to it's relationships to other units.

Just fucking around
Old U2 was great (god what a record-store snob thing to say). Sunday Bloody Sunday and I Will Follow have a home on on my playlist that includes early REM, New Order, Smiths, Echo and the B, Cure, etc.
