Yo

That's interesting. Looks like the .05uf ceramic caps have been replaced with .1uf film caps. New electro too. I see two 1m resistors instead of the usual 10m and 1m. The resistors appear original though...

hey everyone, i'm pretty sure those .1's are original to these really early ones.... look at this one that sold on ebay a few days ago....http://cgi.ebay.com/Mosrite-Fuzzrite-Or ... dZViewItem.... i questioned the authenticity of those .1's too, but this ebay one is now the 3rd i have seen with this set up...... i changed the electrolytic, and i've got a hunch the switch and the black/white plastic wire are replacements too.-jim

Whoa

Interesting. So these earlier versions were almost like Orpheum fuzzes with .1uf instead of .05uf's? There were around 200 germanium Fuzzrites built supposedly. I wonder how far into it they stopped using the .1uf's and if the 10m resistor change happened at the same time.

hey guys, i wonder if that change happened then too....i wish that last ebay auction had had better pictures to see the resistors and pot etc....i've only had mine to look at real close up, but on ebay i've seen two others like mine... and one with the ceramics... plus one or two like the one sickle just posted(that was a sweet one i might add!!), the majority seem to be the nu-fuzz sprague thingie.... all these early ones must have been made in super small numbers.... i wonder if anyone on here has a creamic cap one to check pot dates on....or other ones.... sickle you should post yours. :tu: it might be cool to try to get all the different versions in here if we can....

there's a slightly funny story to mine... i found it in a small shop in columbia MO 3 or 4 years ago for $200!...i was pretty sure they were going for more like $300 at the time, so i grabbed it!... but bought it without trying it in the shop 'cause i had rush back for soundcheck. well, when i finally hooked it up, it wouldn't work :scared: now i knew why the cheap price!! i thought the shop owner thought it was broken!....i was bummed :scared: and packed it away.... i finally decided to mess with it a few days later.....and found that all it was the battery shorting against the on off switch! :phew: a little foam and she was up and running!! :tu: the only thing is... is i still wonder if he was giving me a good deal or was thinking he slipped one by on me!! :headpop:
