Barry Jenkins from Nashville Teens (later The Animals) runs the guitar shop up the road from me. Nice bloke.Nick wrote: ↑Thu Jan 27, 2022 3:48 pmAye, the two Jims supposedly both had them. Nashville Teens used a Roger Mayer fuzz as well.fernieite wrote: ↑Thu Jan 27, 2022 2:53 pmVery cool bit of history! Thanks for sharing.Nick wrote: ↑Thu Jan 27, 2022 1:58 pm
This advert was printed in Melody Maker, in February 1966. Details about the model having been supplied to session guitarists over the previous two years, as well as the builder being located in Surrey, were kind of suspicious to me. I emailed Roger Mayer about it, and he confirmed to me that it was indeed an ad that he, himself, had posted for his early pedals
Which groups would have used RM's fuzz back then? At least a couple of the session guitarists would have been the two Jims, yes?

Yeah, baby! Currently restoring a 1963 AC30 Super Twin. Unfortunately, without the matching cabinet.

One of these ? This is my copper panel JMI 62/63ish I think. I modded a boring recent cabinet so it looked like the old one with the panel across the top.The Captain wrote: ↑Mon Mar 14, 2022 8:25 pm Yeah, baby! Currently restoring a 1963 AC30 Super Twin. Unfortunately, without the matching cabinet.
