Like my Maggie is labelled "Da Vinci". Magnatones are flat-out killer amps, and that one looks amazing, Bigfoot. Great score!

Cheers guys really pleased with it. Sounds amazing!

You don’t see old Magnatone in the UK that often, never mind the other different branded stuff.

Any ideas about the badge on the front? The magnatone amps website says it just comes with a “v” on the trim but their pic shows a magnatone badge. Looking closely at my amp and the tolex/covering, it doesn’t appear that there ever was one

Only a guess, but it's probably a variation depending on when the amps were built and who built them. I've seen some with the extra "Magnatone" trim at the top of the cabinet and some without. They weren't a huge company, so it's possible they went out with different trims. These were hand-built cabinets and hand-wired circuits so maybe the dude who built yours just forgot to screw it in. :badteeth:

Magnatone always made a lot of OEM amps, too, and that continued once Estey took over the company in 1961, so you'll see an even greater variation of branding and trims across later models.

Thanks very much for the input. I figure that may well be the case with my amp.

:freakout: Ibanez FZ7
My old one is heavily gigged and the switch is getting knackered. Snagged this nearly mint one with box for a sensible price so I’ve got a backup when I want chewy, gated, unpredictable fuzzrite style chaos.
