Thanks guys. Yeah I lucked out on this tweed vibrolux. They both break up around 6 but the Ga18 and fender have different break up tones. I do like the tremolo a little better on the Gibson. The cleans are fairly similar. They’re just both amazing amps!

I have a question Scott and Doc since we’re talking about Vibrolux and GIbson amps . In my experience Fender amps shine with single coil guitars and I believe Leo Designed his amps to be used in conjunction with his guitars .
Do Gibson amps suit Gibson guitars or are Fender single coil guitars equally good?

I think it’s quite subjective. A certain Billy Gibons has been known for sticking a les Paul through a few brown face and tweed fenders with great results.
I’ve even seen a very very early picture of the Beatles playing Gibson amps with the early Rickenbacker guitars.

I think it differs depending on what you want from the amp.

I like both P90s and humbuckers and find they both equally sound good through all my amps.

I think you can use either humbuckers or single coils for Gibson amps and it will still sound great. Just gotta experiment is all. Some amps do take better for the different pickups. I don’t believe Gibson was thinking like that. Single coils sound amazing with the GA18. All chimey. My P90s off my ‘63 SG special also sound great with the GA18. And my old SG with humbuckers sound great with my GA83S amp. Of course that’s got a 1X12 facing the front, along with 4 six inch speakers shooting out from the side. Just depends on the particular circuitry. The fun part is to experiment to find the perfect tone for you for a particular amp. My ‘51 Pro TV front fender sounds particularly amazing with a Strat played clean. But when cranked, it sounds better with my P90s and So many variables. Hope this helped a little.
