Okay, guys, I sold a bunch of stuff, and then I was impulsive and bought a pedal from London Vintage / Denmark Street and then read here that some people had concerns about past transactions. So, please tell me everything about it. Is it a MkI or MkII? Anything besides the battery clip replaced? Thanks in advance.

Congratulations :)
It's not the most questionable/fucked-up pedal to have come from MG, but it has been a little messed around with. The jack sockets, screws on the board, battery snap and the power filter cap aren't original. In the photos that MG used to advertise it, the pedal showed a unique type of cap piggybacked on its original Wima. That funky piggybacked cap may have been original, as Sola Sound were piggybacking the power filter cap during this period, but even if it wasn't, it's still a shame to see both caps removed to make room for an old, yet not period-correct replacement. Hopefully Justin had good reason to do so, but it seems more likely that an effort was made to conceal the possibility that the board had been tampered with (which may not even have been the case).

Nah, it's a MKII. It might have a 187 date code on the level pot, but, either way, it was quite certainly built in early 1967. Looks like it has a repro bottom plate as well?
How's it sound?

It has a fairly crude metal bottom plate, but thankfully, it sounds fantastic. Not a lot of difference in tone across the Filter knob, but it sounds wonderful.

Filter will be attack. For weird reasons... Think it was originally a tone filter on the early ones, then they couldn’t be arsed changing the labels when they switched to the MkII circuit? Something like that. I’m sure someone will have a better explanation!

Congrats from me too, you're lucky it made it out of the UK with all the covid delays.

that sounds unusual - my one is from this around this time-frame i think (with a piggy-backed extra cap), and has quite a wide attack range, but also sounds wonderful, quite mesmerising to me in fact (heh!)

In what order did they make 'em ?
the mkii's first, then later switched to mki ?...i'm confused
I thought the early supa's were kind of sola mkii's in another box (to make it simple)
