1981 Inventions DRV - worth it?
This pedal has had me intrigued for quite some time. The secondhand market is finally down to at or below table price. Anyone have one? Is it really JARC or is it something more than that?

i like pedals when you know they're on
When I saw you with that lost look on your face saying you had just saw ET, I thought "uh oh, game over" - innerflight

No personal experience for me. I’ve read the Rat was used as a starting point, but the end-result seems to be quite different. Here’s a good comparo:

I’ve got one of these. I really like it, I’ve got another one on the way for my other board. It’s a simple, great sounding distortion. I can’t help you out with your question though as I’ve never owned a Rat.

It’s a very versatile pedal and covers a lot of ground. Hard to get a bad sound of it. Well worth trying

You just described a Rat.Pahathuasyndicate wrote: ↑Sat Aug 17, 2019 6:17 pm It’s a very versatile pedal and covers a lot of ground. Hard to get a bad sound of it. Well worth trying
Seriously though, it sounds really nice. But whenever I hear a comparison of a Rat to any other pedal, I always end up thinking, "Man, that Rat sound great!" First love is always the strongest, I guess.

Well hell. I do have one in my sights for a decent price... but a new amp setup lands Monday... and I’ve never had anything like this setup before SO I’m thinking wait it out and see if I really NEED a pedal like this with this changing of the guards....

For the price a Rat is great!!
It was the 3rd stomp box I ever had.
My parents bought me a EHX small clone and Vintage Rat at Christmas when I was 16/17.
So many great tones just in those 2 boxes

It's my fav non fuzz distortion. Period. The magic is the low cut. Seems like it's far more than just a low pass filter. Whatever it is, it's magic. Prices going down on these. He's making way more than he used to. You can snag one under retail price.
