Offset GAS
I've had a recent buildup of GAS for a Fender Offset, specifically Jazzmaster or Jaguar, and have nearly convinced myself that I "need" one. Tele and Strat are already accounted for. Can you guys talk to me about how these two compare to what I already have? Do you find one more versatile than the other? If you could only choose one, what would it be? BTW, I don't think the short scale would be an issue for me (Gibsons are comfortable) and preference is usually toward "vintage-style" pickups. Looking forward to a prescription!

Re: Offset GAS
have had both. loved them both. different strokes for different folks. more switching on the jag than jazz.
i got along well with both but MAYBE had more of a thing for the jazzmaster.
could be i built it to be exactly what i wanted and that's why? idunno.
the jag was a stock 65AVRI. jazz was a partscaster. both epic with fuzzers.
both now gone. member of the wedge society. brooms for all! still have the mustang though.
good excuse for me to take a visual journey down memory lane...

Re: Offset GAS
Scale length is something to think about. The Jag is 24", same as a Mustang, and is gonna feel a good bit different than a strat or tele for that reason.

Jags are cool but too many options for me. Love a Jazzmaster especially with fuzz

Nope I already had a January 1966 Strat . It played and sounded better so I kept it and sold the Jazzy. Jazzmaster look cool, I’ll give them that much .burgersalad14 wrote: ↑Tue Sep 24, 2019 9:43 pmHaha you sold that for a Strat? Re: Offset GAS
I played Gibsons for over a decade. Then I got the Strat bug and landed a nice 2010 AmStd. It took me a bit to get used to the longer scale. Now I love it though and switch back and forth with a nice SG standard. Still...I dream of Jazzmasters. I love how they sound into a pushed amp. From Roy Clark to Swervedriver, I'd love to get one.
