NAD: AC10 Twin
Hi folks. Just got this in the door. 64(?) AC 10 2x10. I’m a little confused, though. Do I just need a step up transformer to run it. I’ve ever played a Uk amp before and don’t want to fuck up the power transformer in the amp. How do I make it go?

In US : Voltage is ok...
Just install the ususal (US) 3 prong plug instead of this UK stype one....or get a UK to US plug type "converter"

"adapter" would be what we'd call it in the states. You dont need an external box to CONVERT the voltage from 120 wall voltage into 240 or what have you, you just need an adapter so that plug will fit into an american socket. And yeah, leave the transformer set to 115V.

Long term, I would echo Rafi’s original suggestion to replace the plug with a high quality 3 prong , 15 amp, 125 volt, US plug. Easy to do and should be available at any good hardware store or electrical supply house.
Enjoy that beautiful amp!

Found this inspection tag tied to the turret board. There’s a name on the back I can’t read.
It runs quiet, which is what I was really hoping for. I hate buying amps without hearing them first, but I got lucky with this one. After years of Fenders this is a welcome relief.

Nice, I used to have one as well...never should have sold it! As others have said all you need is a plug adaptor to have this work in the US. It is worth getting the "input mod" done on these. Essentially the inputs came from the factory wired with some resistor values with deadend the sound quite a bit. You can jumper these with some different resistors to improve the punch and gain and it's 100 percent reversible. Sorry I don't have the full technical info on this but the one I had already had this done and after we compared it to Jim's original we both agreed the mod helps a lot. A bit of googling and taking it to a qualified tech (or if you're handy with this kind of thing) should be able to mod it quickly, cheaply, and easily.
