I am not sure how many of you have heard of Transferwise but they are an awesome alternative to PayPal. The fees are ridiculously low and they’re fast.
If you trust the seller I would recommend checking them out. I don’t think they really have any buyer protections in place, but they are a great way to move money around. They also have favorable exchange rates.

I’m definitely going to look into this. I hate PayPal anymore.

FYI Paypal only charges fees on purchases, like an Ebay or Reverb sale, or if you send someone an invoice payment. However person-to-person exchanges have no fee. If you buy a pedal from me via paypal buttons on my site, I pay a fee. However, if you arrange the sale over email/DM and just send me money for a pedal, I pay nothing.

No need to assume everyone in the world gets paid with USD... And paypal exchange rate is awful.Dr Tony Balls wrote: ↑Wed Oct 21, 2020 3:10 pm FYI Paypal only charges fees on purchases, like an Ebay or Reverb sale, or if you send someone an invoice payment. Transferwise is rad. I wish more people used it so that's nice to see this topic.

Re: New Way to Pay
The exchange rate is what really sold me. Converting CHF to GBP was great. It saved me around 100 CHF on my purchase. For the seller, he saved about 110 in fees that PayPal would have taken. I thought that was pretty good all the way around.
You can also keep multiple currency balances with Transferwise and the fees are even lower. I know you can do this with PayPal too.
I will continue to use PayPal if needed, and it is nice to see some credible competition finally.
