Wah with no volume bump

Post by Dullboy »

Hello there.
Maybe there are other topics about this, but I’d like to ask if you know a wah wah that does not increase the volume when it’s on.
Please let me know, because I always fight with my Vox wah because of this issue.
Thanks

Castledine has a trim pot where you can adjust

This.

My Castledine drop in kit for my Vox wah cured me of any more wah pedal desires.

I believe the place to adjust this is the 68k (nominal) input resistor. Lower values increase input signal into the wah, so depending on what is currently in there, you’d probably want to increase this resistor or temporarily install a trim pot until you have unity with the pedal engaged.

Gain can also be adjusted at the Q1 emitter resistor but simply altering the input resistor should do the trick.
