Fuzz collecting is a sickness and there is a smash and grab going on. The few are grabbing what they can. Grab what you can. While you can. I suppose, or you won’t get any fuzz at all.

The alternative is socialism. Which I am actually a fan of. I agree with Spok.

I gather that folks in this thread are disappointed about being 'priced out' of brands/models that once upon a time were relatively affordable, but it really isn't the case that it's now impossible to score a decent copy of a MKII or whatever. Plenty of up n' coming builders flogging their wares either here or on social media, and as far as I know, you can still buy direct from unequivocably authoritative builders like Stu or Laundromat. You need to be quick to catch the D*A*M Direct deals in order to out-speed flippers or w/e, but that's how it's always been, no?

If I were to put together a pedalboard with boutique fuzz on, then I'd grab a Supa MKI from Stu, one of Laundromat's groovy gold cast-enclosure MKI's, a Ghost Pep Box (because it seems like he's the only guy who respects that delightfully-awful sounding pedal :badteeth: ), and then try my luck on the D*A*M Direct thread for a MKII to show up, even if that means missing out a few times whilst other forumites get theirs. I'd prob also get Electric Warrior to make me a Fuzz Face clone, in exchange for one of Marc Bolan's used condoms or something. I get that it's tantalising seeing venerable pedals crop up for four-figures on Reverb, but it's not difficult to find less clickbait-y options right here in front of noses on this forum

I fail to see logic in the assertion that anything less than predatory capitalism is socialism.

The white color Pigdog used on these pedals is fabulous! That classic black lettering...ask what you want for it...he isn't making any more that look like this! The look is the key...the sound remains the same with other less exciting graphic designs. Like real estate...location...you can always lower your price...you can never increase it!

I find the use of three different fonts at best ill informed by modern design sensibility. I’ll give you two dollars to relieve you of that visual affront.

I know I'm not the only one missing the buy/sell/trade forum of yesterday, right?...well 5+ years ago to be more exact. 2-3 pages of DAM, Pigdog, Jerms, creepy fingers, monolith, mr. Morphine, castledine, Raf's vintage stuff, electric swan and emanux random boutiques you never see, etc, etc. It's dead and has been dead for awhile. I feel like people just show up to buy pedals and then gtfo. At least stay a bit and fake it a little lol. :hihi:

I agree with you :)

I started the thread, not to bitch about price....but quite the opposite, i.e when does a pedals worth outweigh its fun/use?
I know this is different for everyone, but just wanted to hear different point of views.
In my case, my fuzz "collection" and guitars is the most valuable stuff i own (just like it should be ;))

I also used to think that a (single) pedal shouldn’t cost more than your other gear

So - Guitar being most expensive then amp then pedal, I try to stick by that rule though I do have pedals that cost more than my cheap ass Tele but that’s not my ‘main’ guitar

I agree, but would put amp higher than guitar on the list!
