I cannot believe how much NOS 12AX7s and 6L6s are going for compared to the prices people were asking two years ago. It makes sense since the supplies of NOS tubes are dwindling, but it is still surprising to see the prices.

I wonder what the audiophiles think of guitarists. I would imagine the idea of us burning up 4 NOS 12AX7s in a ratty guitar amp that is going to be hauled to practices and gigs makes their stomachs turn.
:hihi:

Of course we're the ones actually creating music, but if I had to guess I would think most of those guys are exclusively into Classical music.
Actually the couple of people I know respect the people that make the music, realize they can't but still want to believe they have an ear for music. Therefore they can justify to themselves the expense of this stuff.

As much as I like NOS tubes I can seldom justify the crazy prices on some of them. I have been happy enough with the TAD 6L6s I have been running in my Allen Encore and the TAD 6V6s in my Deluxe Rev. I had NOS GE 6V6s in the Deluxe and switched to the TAD and any difference could be explained by just general differences in tubes. I do think the NOS ones last longer, but I can get a couple sets of TADs for the price of NOS and then bias the amp myself easily with a $25 bias probe so really even that argument falls to the side.

I AB'd a NOS 6v6 Sylvania against a Electro Harmonix in a Vibro Champ a while back and preferred the EH. Go figure.

what a pity, no international shipping, at least someone in the UK won't have the disappointment of trying to fit that EU plug into their wall

Huzzah! :fu:
I love the desperate plea he concludes with! "BECUASE IT IS WIERD AND IM PRETTY CERTAIN THERE ARE SOME MAJOR PENNY COLLECTORS OUT THERE, I COULD USE THE CASH ASWELL,AND DO ALOT OF GOOD THINGS WITH THE MONEY. EVERYWHERE I GO THERE IS BAD PEOPLE THEY SAY IM CRAZY,AND MY PENNY IS WORTH HALF A CENT WHEN I TALK ABOUT IT BUT THEY HAVE NEVER SEEN IT UP CLOSE, SO SOMEONE DO ME A FAVOUR AND HELP ME PROVE TO MYSELF I MADE A GOOD FIND...

("or I'm going home and I'm gonna bite my pillow!")
He'll even deliver it and hang out with you!! wow what a guy!

ANY QUESTIONS FEEL FREE TO ASK, I LIKE TO CHAT, I USUALLY DO GARAGE SALES AND SUCH AND WHEN I COLLECT, I SORT OF HAVE MY OWN PRIVATE COLLECTIONS OF VARIOUS ITEMS , I WANT TO BE A PICKER AND FIND MORE STUFF AND BRING YOU MORE ITEMS,ILL RE-INVEST MY MONEY, AND BRING MORE TO THE WORLD MARKET. I WOULD LOVE TO TRAVEL TO SOME SHOWS, OR HANG OUT WITH THE BUYER IF THEY WANTED TOO,

AS FOR SHIPPING IT WILL BE LIKE ONE TO TWO DAYS I SAY CANADA POST, BUT FOR THAT KIND OF CASH IM EVEN WILLING TO PERSONALLY DELIVER IT, OR SEND IT THE MORE EXPENSIVE WAY, BUT ILL PAY THAT OUT OF MY POCKET
