Thanks, Captain! I have a BYOC MKII clone and it sounds about the same as you mention. I havent had the pleasure to play a D*A*M MKII verses my BYOC, so I dont know how accurate the BYOC is.
My 66 is really raspy and bright, but side by side with the silicon it does sound better in a jam situation!

Thanks.
The 1966 is usually a raspier fuzz tone where as the MKII is a little smoother and more heavily saturated. The 1966 in the super bee mode will still but a tad brighter. The nature of the 1966 means it will cut through way more than a MKII regardless of settings. So aye, more gain and not so bright.
The MK II absolutely kicks butt with my Strat. I am definitely in the market for another, that pedal kills!

hmmm, I've had a completely different experience with my 1966. I too got one of the germanium one's in the auctions a few weeks back (without the usual mullards). Anyway, mine is far from woofy on any setting. And I can easily dial back the volume on my guitar a bit and get those inbetween sounds you're talking about... it doesn't clean up too fast for me... it keeps a fair amount of grit and body until around 50% on the guitar's volume. I suggest running the level above unity and pushing your amp harder if it's cleaning up too quickly for you. Also, depending on what pots are in your guitar, the volume changes will react differently anyways. I've been getting some awesome tones with my 66 set to superbee mode with the attack at around 3 o'clock, and the level almost maxed. This way you get a far bigger variety of tones depending on where you set your guitar's volume. The guitar that reacts best to the 66 seems to be my Telecaster with Bare Knuckle Brown Sugar pickups (Bridge: 7.6k, Neck: 7k).
I'll do some more clips of it tomorrow showing the different shades of fuzz.

I didn't really consider the pot value, as I was giving more attention to the pickup type. Thanks for the food for thought!
