Tough assignment you had!!

I'll most likely never hear an OG Zonk or MKI in the flesh and as great as youtube is to a degree, it's far from live - How close are the replicas from the top guys? Every one is a bit different I know but do you think you're missing something if you've never heard an original MKI but have stepped on a Jerms, DAM, Pigdog etc? Ignorance is bliss so what does it matter I guess but I'm curious if you (or anyone else) thinks there is "something" that cannot be recreated for whatever reason.

we a/b'd Jim's original MKI, MKII and VOX MKIII tonebenders with my Jerms MKI, MKI.5/II switchable and MKIII benders.

:headpop:

i'm not lying when i say they were virtually indistinguishable tone wise with your eyes closed. subtle nuances when you rolled back the guitar volume or maxed out a tone/attack pot but that was it.
each one of these pedals, old and new, are a work of focking art. jim's builds are not clones but identical sonic replicas worth their weight in gold.

pigdog, dam, jerms MKI's vs Old Gran'dad ? stay tuned...

EDIT: i guess we didnt get footage of dustin's Electric Eye No.1 vs the MKI. but i think he (D) will back me up when i say they're mad close :tu:

Nice, Cody. I have never been a vintage type of guy and I find it excellent that a lot of the builders here are able to nail the tone.

Have you tried a Zoot yet? It would be interesting to run one of those next to an OG Zonk.
