Nice pics indeed
I like the idea of adding the pickup colour elsewhereon the guitar no matter how subtle. Perhaps the background to the bigsby logo with the Rick pickup. Alternately route then paint a narrow pinstrip along the length of the trem arm (three ribs running transversely at the tip may work also)

The nut is red. It's natural bone that we soak in an airtight jar with a mixture of lacquer and cherry for weeks. Soaks in nice and deep and hardens to a decent shine when dried. Took a few tries to get it right, but cool now. The pickguard will help a bit too..

Slotty bucker is cool but on this, Red Ric is cooler. Snakehead/Jerry Jones vibe is cool too. Basically, it's cool. Did I say cool?

I've seen red nuts on wonderfully detailed Spalt guitars, which is not a bad comparison at all
I am looking forward to how this develops

Yes! You guys are awesome at spotting my influences! I had a Spalt back in 2003 with one of his red nuts and always wanted to get another. Took a while to figure it out..
And also to KKjale - totally inspired by Jerry Jones shape as well on that top horn. Good eye.

2guests - your bridge pickup is done!! Nevermind the fingerprint.. it will be nice and shiny when you get it. It is overwound loud as hell and has a 4 conductor for a split. Now on to the neck pickup..
