Just got my hands on a copy of this and bloody hell - sonic insanity! Allegedly the 'om' session was the one where he went on a lysergic bender but some folks seem to think it was actually this one. Glad I started with his 50s stuff 'cause this is as far out as it gets. Thanks for the recommendation redeye

The live in Japan 4 disc set is pretty wild as well. I've read also that the OM session trane was in acid, I believe it! That record is nuts! It was recorded around Seattle as well. I think my favorite trane record is "Coltrane plays the blues" it's something I never get tired of!
