I just realized that I haven't posted any photos of my grey Vox TB. I assume it's a '67, but don't know for sure. It doesn't have the cap underneath the board. The photos are from the previous owner, who is a member here.

Looks to me like the solder joints on one or both of the transistors has been worked on. I haven't seen an original-condition Vox board with lots of flux and/or uneven joints like that.

Yeah, that's my take too. Is it not worth the effort to try and track down SFTs to bring this back to spec? Or is that too difficult to manage at this point?

I can't compare it with another Vox since I don't have access to one, but right now it sounds like my Analogman sunbender 1.5 with that bias knob turned all the way clockwise (so rather zippery and crude). Interesting, but not great for chords.

Since the damage is done, I'd explore some of the other interesting sets from Vox history: SFT/OC76, SFT/extant AC125, OC76/AC107.

I've another to share, which looks all original from what I can tell? (Not much!), sounds good though. The serial number (or production number?) has long since worn off the back, so not sure exactly where it fits into the Vox TB timeline, it almost looks like it said 1906. Has the more common SFT 363 and 337 transistor set

Longtime lurker, but with the heavyweights over here I wanted my first post to be a good one.

Picked this one up from Matt/vanguard. My first vintage fuzz purchase and I'm am beyond stoked. To hold a piece of fuzz history is pretty cool, especially since I've played replicas of these great pedals for so long.

And because I wasn't going to make anything easy on Matt, I also had him make a BEC replica of this one with the bigger output cap and all.

Cool details: Bigger .01uF output cap and a *black* SFT 363

Nice to see you over here, Ryan! That old Vox is a real standout--gets dangerously close to my old MK1.5, but with stronger mids.
