HorseyBoy wrote: Beatles covers were all the rage in the 70s (Ike and Tina did "Let it Be" on the same album). Junior Parker did THREE of them on his 1971 album "Love Ain't Nothin' but a Business Goin' On" - "Taxman", "Lady Madonna" and this one, "Tomorrow Never Knows":

Not my taste, I prefer the "801 live" version :

And for "Loving Arms" I prefer Millie Jackson´s version:

(Merry sang backup on the original. It's quite a tale...)

Yeah, you're right.... It's just straight up plagarism. Still like the Zep version better.

The Elevators' Baby Blue would have been first choice, if it hadn't already appeared.

Man, this thread is throwing up some beauties: Otis! Fanny! And This Mortal Coil - which reminded me of their cover of Chris Bell's "I Am the Cosmos", which is also excellent. And how did I miss the MC5 and CCR? Their cover of "Suzie Q" has to be up there, although I love the Dale Hawkins original, too.
And KKJale, I LOVE that cover of "Gimme Shelter", which I'd never heard before. Will have to track that down. Reminded me of this whole album of Beatles covers:

Keep 'em coming, fellas!
