Re: R.I.P. Larry Macari
Condolences to you and your family Ant.
As I sit here looking at a few of his creations, I can't think of anything else to say except "Thanks!!!" Music would be quite a bit less edgy and more boring without Larry Macari and his achievements. He was definitely the right person at the right times.

Another moment
I was out running this morning and this story came into my head - it actually happened on my day off work so I got it second hand from a member of staff but it's so good ( I was probably 22-24 at the time ) Larry would have been 60ish
Larry was always a very calm guy but when he was annoyed he had these big eyes that he could use to amazing effect - and he was an absolute master of delivering a line when he had to
So , I go into work one day and Ben ( Bass player ) is there
B Ant , you wont believe what happened yesterday
A ( thinking it's a joke ) go on
B Im not joking - I was standing behind the counter and a guy came in and pulled a knife on me
A whaaat ? wtf - are you ok !!
B he said , give me all the money out the till
A oh my God . . .what happened ?
B Well thank goodness , Larry was sitting down behind me
A and ??
B well he stood up and the guy said the same to him
A and what did Larry do ?
B he just stood there and stared at the guy then he said really slowly ' Why don't you just FUCK OFF and mind your own business '
A and ??
B well . .the guy looked a bit shocked . . .he put the knife away and ran out

Ach Ant, so sorry to hear about your uncle. The world's a better place for having had him in it though.

Re: R.I.P. Larry Macari
What a unique character your uncle was, Ant. Thanks for sharing the stories about him - his spirit lives on through all that knew him or heard about him - and he clearly was an uncompromising personality - who really stood out as different from the crowd, but not for selfish reasons - just being himself. And it's clear that his talents & creations have that same character - which is why we're all here. I'm glad you were able to convey that to him - that there's a group of people (us fuzz nutters) that still celebrate and enjoy something he put his heart into so many years ago, and for the family to continue with the same true, maverick vision - but tempered with a lot of heart .
Bless the Macari's.
Condolences,
-David F.

Sorry to hear this Ant. Condolences and best wishes for you and your family.
The fuzz world is a better place for having Larry being a part of it. David said it best in his post above ∆.
