Hi folks,
I hope this is the right place for this?
So, 11 Publishing (Independent publishers based in London) have been working closely with Anthony and Steve at Marcari's on a large format illustrated book - or to put it another way a big coffee table book. Our aim was to try tell the story in a way that was personal to the family and also provide fuzzheads with that all important visual stimulus. This has determined the size of the book as we wanted all the pedals to appear full size. Its no text heavy all encompassing 'history of' type book. More visualy led with stories and reminiscences from our main writer Anthony Macari with help from Steve, and interviews with artists who have used the pedal or have had close ties to Macaris. We're also very pleased to have Mr David Main involved as our 'technical editor', he's our man on the inside explaining how the thing works and why it sounds like it does.
We go through each of the Tonebenders chapter by chapter. including the artists who used that Mk/version. We also include some 'centrefolds' (or DPS’s for those of you in publishing) of ridiculously close up circuit porn. We’re hoping to have the book finished in September/October as we want it out this year.
We feel very lucky to be working with the Macaris on this book as its been such an amazing experience. We’re not doing this as some cash in to get rich, we’re doing because we wanted to make something special and tell and story of this great pedal in a new way. We hope you guys like it as much as we do.
We’ll keep you posted on developments - in the mean time if you want to know more keep you eyes peeled on Facebook/11publishing for updates on ‘Level & Attack - The Untold Story of the Sola Sound Tonbender Fuzz’.
