Gunn Tone Bender (1977)

Post by edkoppel »

Get your gunn/// :marx:

Last night I received my Gunn Tone Bender in the mail, all the way from Middle Earth. :bong3:

This thing is nasty as hell!!!

I have had a few MKIII Tone Benders before, but this one is wayyyyy more brutal sounding.
It's quite a bit louder too (no resistor-jumping necessary).

As you can see the circuit is pretty much a straight MKIII copy and uses some unmarked metalcan trannies (similar to the ones used in the Carlsbro Fuzz and the Park Fuzz Sound). But damn, I don't know what kind of magical wizard dust they got going on in New Zealand in the late 70's because this thing acts more like a Dizzytone than anything else. It almost sounds like a rabid dog, wildly tearing the morning newspaper to shreds... or something :hihi:

I'm guessing these were made in 1977, going by the plethora of "7's" on the components and pots.

So yeah, pretty awesome little fucker right here! :crackjam: :crackjam: :crackjam:

I just realized something...
The mold for the casing must have been messed up because when you compare this one with the Captain's, they have the same indentations in the same exact places. :hihi: :bong2:
